The interdisciplinary team at Birdie Hospice combines expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support to help patients and families through their final chapter together. We tailor service according to each patient’s needs and wishes. This caring team comes to wherever the patient calls “home”.
Meet John Sissney, DO
Dr. Sissney serves as our Medical Director at Birdie. He graduated from Austin College and finished medical school at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. During his 3 year family medicine residency at Texas A&M University, he was honored as intern of the year, served as chief resident, and was voted outstanding third year resident.
Meet Alexis Stephens, RN, BSN
Alexis serves as our RN at Birdie Hospice.
Meet Diana Shefts, RN, BSN, MHA
Diana see our Administrator at Birdie Hospice. She started her nursing career in 1967 after receiving a Diploma in Nursing from one of the old diploma schools. She followed that up with a BSN and MHA while having and raising my five children. She has been in the Home Health and Hospice field since 1969 and has seen all changes- good and bad. “I have been blessed to find my home at Birdie Hospice and work with a group of truly exceptional and caring people.”- Diana
